About the Artist

Josh was born in Nottingham (UK) in 1994 and lived his early years in the countryside outside the city before moving further into the suburbs, remaining there through most of his young life.

He found art to be a tool in which he could most easily communicate and understand the world around him, this started as drawings and paintings and moved to gaming and the art inside these new worlds, the exploration of these immersive experiences became one of Josh’s true passions in life.

Josh studied Games Technology at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies learning the game production pipeline; programming, level design, concept/real-time art, and sound. After he moved to Norwich University of Arts to concentrate studies fully on the Art in Games and Visual Art as a whole.

Since then, he has worked on an extensive range of applications and with studios globally including No Ghost, Revenant, Beyond Creative (Fortnite), Tantrum Studios Canada, DEVOUR, and OTHERWORLD; a start-up VR metaverse studio based in London where he was an Environment Art Lead for the product from its development beginnings and passed its Series A funding round.

Alongside his work in games and real-time applications, Josh finds other means of expression through Digital Art and has been creating works since 2019. The pandemic allowed much more time to concentrate on this area of work and has since become a big part of his creative journey.
Josh has been featured at multiple exhibitions and fairs including the acclaimed Ipotesi Metaverso at Palazzo Cipolla in Rome curated by Serena Tabacchi & Gabriele Simongini.

Josh is heavily inspired by the natural world, the raw environments in youth and the worlds of the digital age, the realms inside our games and the eventual metaverse that connects all things. He sees this as his lives work to bridge these together into a new paradigm for the human condition. Merging the wisdom of the old with the new, open, and gamified reality that we will be stepping into. Through his work, he focuses on these absolutes and imagines our place within them. His work is often experimental and doesn’t tend to focus on one style but always fixates on themes of the natural and digital worlds, data, and philosophy. Though, his work often visually involves and experiments with point cloud and particle VFX, paint, animation, and digital sculpture.

Josh is currently working on his own projects and as a freelancer/consultant for projects in the gaming, XR, metaverse, and virtual production spaces.
